The Punjab government has approved detailed guidelines for the shooting of films and music videos in the state. Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Thursday approved the guidelines and asked the chief secretary Vini Mahajan to form detailed clear guidelines in response to the request of the entertainment industry delegation. The delegation has approached the state government to seek permission to resume production activity.
The guidelines include restriction of 50 persons at the shooting venue, along with the strict adherence to all other COVID safety norms.
Post-approval by the CM, Special Chief Secretary (Home) Satish Chandra issued comprehensive guidelines on the matter. The permissi0on has been granted to shoot videos in the state, subject to certain conditions according to the government release. An application has to be submitted
to the Deputy Commissioner for the grant of permission for shooting giving full details of location, the number of days, and timings for which such permission is sought.
After consultation with police authorities, the deputy commissioner will grant the permission. The copy of the permission will be endorsed to the commissioner of police/senior superintend of the police or information. and required action.
The guidelines further stipulate that the duration of shooting should be restricted to the minimum possible time to take place with only 33% of crew members at the sets. The number of persons restricted to 50 only make-up artistes wear Personal Protection Kits (PPEs), and strictly adhering to maintaining personal hygiene.
To start with shooting, all the persons involved have to be thermally scanned. Wearing of masks for all would be essential, except for the ones who are in front of the camera. All the members at the filming venue should frequently wash their hands with sanitizer or soap and water essentially made available at the venue. As per guidelines, the social distance will have to be maintained, except for the ones who are being filmed,
In order to avoid crowding, enough number of view-cutters and enforcement of crowd control by private security personnel would be ensured.
